At the Rail Industry Association Innovation conference (26th – 27th March, ICC Wales), SpatialCortex will be demonstrating their quantitative manual-handling risk assessment solution, which removes subjectivity in risk assessments and can improve compliance and enable proactive approach to MSD risk management. SpatialCortex will be also delivering a short presentation to industry stakeholders. SpatialCortex’s revolutionary technology MOVA will combine their novel wearable sensors that attach to workwear and AI analytics to help workplaces precisely understand ergonomic risks faced by staff in real operational environments without requiring conventional visual inspections, which further helps risk mitigations, real-time prevention and training development.
Manual-handling injuries or Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) are a leading contributor to lost time absence in UK rail industry and it increased by 34.9% last year (ORR) costing the rail industry +£164m/Yr. For a Train Operating Company (TOC) MSDs are within the top 3 source of sickness absence with each incident lasting about 3 weeks in average, affecting TOCs staff availability.
Kailash Manohara Selvan, CEO of SpatialCortex said “We are delighted to be exhibiting at the RIA Innovation Conference 2024 and we are grateful to TFW for giving us this opportunity. We look forward to demonstrating our exciting range of technologies addressing MSDs within the rail sector at this event before our baseline product launch in April. We also look forward to connecting with industry stakeholders during the event”
